The British Artist Placement Group (APG), founded in 1966, initiated and organized so-called placements in industry and public institutions, where artists worked on ideas, did researched and developed project proposals. Operating in changing formations until the 1980s, APG negotiated numerous placements. The group was less interested in direct cooperation with the working class, but rather in the participation of artists in social decision-making processes.
With works by Ian Breakwell, Roger Coward, Garth Evans, John Latham, George Levantis, Barbara Steveni and others.

Die 1966 gegründete britische Gruppe Artist Placement Group (APG) initiierte und organisierte sogenannte ‘Placements’ in Industriebetrieben und öffentlichen Institutionen, bei denen Künstler vor Ort an Ideen arbeiteten, forschten und Projektvorschläge entwickelten. In wechselnder Besetzung bis in die 1980er Jahre hinein aktiv, handelte die APG zahlreiche Placements aus. Dabei ging es der Gruppe weniger um die direkte Zusammenarbeit mit der Arbeiterschaft, als um eine Beteiligung von Künstlern an gesellschaftlichen Entscheidungsprozessen.
